What we offer
Chinese Medicine is more than just Acupuncture.
Acupuncture is a medical intervention based on Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) principles that involves the insertion of fine, sterile needles into specific points on the body, known as acupoints. This practice is intended to modulate physiological functions and restore homeostasis. The therapeutic effects of acupuncture are believed to arise from its ability to stimulate the central nervous system, thereby promoting the release of neurochemicals and neurohormones that regulate various physiological processes. This can lead to improved blood flow, reduced inflammation, and enhanced pain modulation.
Acupuncture is utilized in both acute and chronic conditions, aiming to improve clinical outcomes by balancing bodily functions and enhancing the body's natural healing processes. Clinically, acupuncture is employed to address a wide range of health issues, including, but not limited to pain management, gastrointestinal disorders, respiratory conditions, and stress-related ailments. Its efficacy is supported by a growing body of research and meta analyses.

Cupping can be used to improve local circulation, facilitate the removal of metabolic waste products, and induce a therapeutic effect on the underlying muscles and connective tissues.
This therapy is used to address various conditions such as musculoskeletal pain, chronic inflammation, and certain respiratory issues. The application of cupping can induce local hyperemia (increased blood flow), promote lymphatic drainage, and modulate the inflammatory response.
Cupping Therapy
Gua Sha is another manual therapy that involves the repeated scraping of the skin's surface using a smooth-edged instrument, similar to the Graston Technique used commonly by osteopaths, sports therapists, and physiotherapists. The technique is designed to stimulate microcirculation in the soft tissues, promote lymphatic drainage, and facilitate the body's natural healing processes.
Gua Sha is utilized to treat musculoskeletal pain, respiratory conditions, and certain chronic inflammatory disorders. The mechanical stimulation from Gua Sha has been shown to trigger an immune response, increase microperfusion, and potentially alter the expression of inflammatory markers in the treated area.

Moxibustion
Moxibustion, better known as moxa, involves the burning of dried mugwort (artemisia argyi) near or on the skin to stimulate specific acupoints. Moxa can be applied directly to the skin, indirectly, or to acupuncture needles, enhancing their therapeutic effect. It is commonly applied in the treatment of musculoskeletal pain, digestive disorders, gynecological conditions, and respiratory issues like asthma and bronchitis. The heat generated by moxa is believed to enhance blood flow, relax muscles, reduce inflammation, and strengthen the immune response.
From a physiological perspective, the application of heat from moxibustion may lead to vasodilation, increased local circulation, and the activation of heat-sensitive pathways that can influence both local and systemic healing responses.
